I’m falling behind with the English blog… Since the last post, a lot has happened! We had a brass band concert almost just for us at the village festival in Meilhan, we replaced the gas cooktops with induction cooktops, and we visited Saint-Jean-de-Luz. On the way, we picked up a lady who told us a bit about the history of the Landes forests: Henri III forced landowners to plant pine trees to dry up the marshes.
In Saint-Jean-de-Luz, I also renewed my passport, picked up a package with induction pots and pans (which I will have to return, as they are NOT induction), … We were parked at the chapel of Notre Dame de la Paix, very quiet and free while still being not too far from the city center. We left earlier than planned because the last time I filled up, I must not have filled the tank completely without realizing it, so we were out of water…
We refilled on the way to Spain, then we settled on top of a mountain not far from Hendaye. We took a wonderful walk there, the landscapes were magnificent: cliffs, ocean, wild horses, streams, and rocks… We are still here today, and tomorrow we will go back down to Saint-Jean-de-Luz to return the pots and pick up other packages we ordered. We will also go shopping and refill our water tank (we are going to do some laundry today).
